My name is Drew Siegel and I am currently a sophomore at Scarsdale High School in Scarsdale, New York. Before I was born, my grandma passed away from terminal cancer, so it has always inspired me to find ways to improve medical treatments. I am currently a part of my school’s science research program, where I am researching breast cancer. This summer, I am planning on doing research on how female socioeconomic backgrounds effect access to and outcomes of medical treatments. I am also an officer of my school’s Women for Women club, where we fundraise and support women in third-world countries. On top of that, I created a health and wellness blog for my school’s newspaper, of which I am an editor. Lastly, I am also involved with my local hospital as the secretary of the junior board, where we run programs and fundraise to help support various projects at the hospital, especially pediatrics. I hope that through my involvement with Girls Global Health, I will be able to spread knowledge and awareness, and support those who are in need and lack the proper access to medical care.
